Good Friday 2010 will always be a memorable occasion for all Alex fans but for all the wrong reasons!
On our first league visit to Christie Park, Morecambe we raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals in the 17th minute from Joel Grant and Shaun Miller on the half hour. Phil Jevons pulled one back for the hosts but Clayton Donaldson restored our two goal advantage just after the hour mark. The game looked all over when Andy Parrish was sent off in the 71st minute but Miller missed from the penalty spot.
Morecambe pulled a goal back through Wayne Curtis on 87 minutes and unbelievably equalised on 92 minutes through Paul Mullin. From a 95th minute corner Morecambe’s substitute David Artell headed the winner to turn a victory into a defeat !!!
